Whether you are in our residential program or in one of our Three step-down programs, group therapy and individual therapy will be an important part of your stabilization plan. There are many skills to master that group therapy will provide.

Patients need to understand their condition and how to relate to the world we live in with that condition. Topics that are usually covered include anger management, family issues, goal setting, conflict resolution, how to seek out and make appropriate friends, educational goals, appropriate career goals, time management, crisis management and managing feelings appropriately, to name a few.

Receiving private, individual therapy will assist the patient in processing personal issues that cannot be addressed in a group setting. This is the time to open up about deep-seated issues and concerns that the patient may be reluctant to share with loved-ones or friends. Fear of Judgment or rejection is overcome by the patient being able to share any issue with a trusted therapist in a clinical setting.
